Biography

Vijay received his M.Tech degree in computer science from IIT Delhi in year 2014. He joined as a Researcher at NEC Central Research Laboratories (CRL) in year 2014 where he focused to optimise and bridge the gap between Super Computers and Convolutional Neural Networks. In autumn 2015, he was a visiting industrial fellow at University of California, Berkeley (UCB). As of winter 2017 he has been associated with and now heading the team of NLP at Rakuten Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rakuten Inc. Tokyo. His specialisation is on Natural Language Processing (NLP), and his research interests span Deep Learning and Machine Learning in general. He mostly focuses on exploiting powerful architectures like Recurrent Neural Networks to enable better user experience and radically change how user interacts with systems across businesses in Rakuten.
