Takashi Ikegami

Professor, The University of Tokyo

Biography

Graduated from the Department of Physics, the university of Tokyo in 1984. Doctor of Science in Physics in 1989. He becomes Associated Professor from 1994 and Professor from 2008 at the General Systems Sciences, the University of Tokyo. While continuing research on complex systems and artificial life, Ikegami actively connects the fields of art and science. Ikegami is the author of "The sandwich theory of life", "Life emerges in Motion, "Between man and machine" (co-author).

この10年は深層学習とともに人工知能=AIが世界を席巻した時代でした。AIを人のできることの自動化とするならば人と同じように自分で自分のやることを決定していくシステム、つまりは人工システムの自律化=ALIFEがこれからの10年を牽引すると思われます。
そこでALIFEとはどういう技術か、ALIFEではどういう研究を行っているのか。どういう新しい産業分野がひらかれようとしているのか。
そうしたことに関係させつつ、お話したいと思います。
