Yuichi Kageyama joined Sony in 1999. He engaged in the development of home network such as i.LINK (IEEE 1394) and DLNA, contributing to the introduction of all CE categories of Sony products. He started research and development for distributed deep learning from 2016 and achieved the world's fastest record on November 13, 2018 (https://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Press/201811/18-092E/index.html). Currently, He is focusing on the distributed learning technologies that everyone can easily use.
Improvement of development efficiency, and human resource training are urgent challenges in AI area which is rapidly spreading applications and use case due to its high performance and versatility. In this session, we introduce our latest Deep Learning development environment "Neural Network Libraries / Console" which has realized high development efficiency and more than 1000 Deep Learning talents training. And we also introduce our latest distributed training technology which can complete ImageNet/ResNet-50 training within 122 seconds, which was previously consuming about 4 days by single GPU.
