He graduated from the Department of Forestry, the University of Tokyo in 2000 and the Yale University Graduate School in 1994 (Master of Economics). He was also a lecturer at Hosei University Graduate School (ecosystem design). After working for the Forestry Agency and Cassina IXC, he joined the Japan Research Institute in 2003. With the mission of "Designing diverse and sustainable communities like forests", he engaged in incubation activities for both the public and private sectors. The current focus is on public renovation through "Local DX" such as the implementation of the next generation public transportation utilizing the autonomous driving technology. His co-authorship includes 'AI municipalities' (Gakuyo Shobo, 2018), 'Public IoT' (The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, 2018), 'MaaS' (Nikkei Business Publications, 2018), etc.
