Jordi Torras received his bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University Autonomous of Barcelona, specializing in AI, neural networks, expert systems, and genetic algorithms. In 1997, he began his entrepreneurial career with SBD, a professional services firm in Barcelona. Soon after the company’s acquisition, Torras founded Inbenta in 2005 to help clients improve online relationships with their customers via artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and other revolutionary technologies. In 2010, Inbenta shifted from SaaS to software with the launch of their very first product. Currently, Jordi Torras runs Inbenta from their headquarters in Silicon Valley.
The latest progresses in AI, machine learning and Natural Language Understanding, combined with an increasingly competitive environment, are pushing chatbot quickly into adoption levels unseen just a few months ago, it is very exciting to observe how new cases appear everyday, and chatbots become more and more integrated with back office systems. The challenge for the chatbot concept is the capacity for vendors to create really intelligent applications that produce ROI in a reasonable time and budget. New advances in AI are making this possible.
